ICEAF XI – 9th International Conference of Engineering Against Failure
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVE
The integrity and reliability of engineering structures require not only profound technical expertise but also a comprehensive, systems-level perspective. Achieving effective solutions demands a multidisciplinary and multiscale approach, capable of addressing variations across both spatial and temporal scales, while remaining precisely adapted to the unique requirements of each application.
Over recent decades, failure prevention has evolved into a key component of holistic engineering strategies also considering quality, performance, economic competitiveness, environmental sustainability of materials and structures as well as end-of-life (EoL) component management. Simultaneously, the innovations related to advanced materials and modern manufacturing processes, such as Additive Manufacturing, has significantly expanded the frontiers of engineering design and innovation.
In addition, the ongoing digital transformation of engineering, driven by breakthroughs in Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), virtual testing, digital twins, and virtual certification, has introduced both unprecedented opportunities and new challenges.
