Improvement of Finite Element Model of Hot Rolling

The objective of the internship is to improve this model by including thermal simulation and by optimizing it to be able to model an industrial hot rolling process with multiple passes along rolling stands with real data.

Internship activities:
– Master the use and the configuration of METAFOR through the modelling of simplified models of rolling
– Use and improve the model of combined width and thickness reduction
– Perform a comparative study of various industrial configurations and evaluation of their relative performance
– Present the results of the internship in a written report and oral presentations (in English)
